Why does my rabbit run around and shake his head?

He is a mini lop bunny, about 7 weeks old. He runs around my apartment shaking his head and twitching his feet. And then calms down and cuddles up to me?

This is when I let hin out his cage for a run around..is he just getting a run in or is something bothering him?

Why does my rabbit run around and shake his head?
He's happy.

It's commonly called 'binkying'. As in 'my rabbit was so happy he did a binky'.

Look up rabbit %26amp; binky together on youtube, you'll see what I mean.

It's a natural play behaviour, rabbits do this in the wild also. It means he's contented. happy, chilled out and playful.

It also means he's not stressed out at all so well done, you have a happy bunny.

Why does my rabbit run around and shake his head?
It sounds like he's just jumping about and playing. If he starts to shake his head to the point of rolling or falling over, then a trip to the vet is definitely needed.

Here are a couple of links that I've found have great information about pet bunns like care/feeding, play/toys, and bunny body language.

I hope you are your new buddy have many years of fun, love and happiness together.
if he scratches his head check his ears because you might start to see some scabs that means that your rabbit has mites you should see a vet because it will only get worse they will give you 2 injections 1 then 1 2 weeks later and then your rabbit will be fine
Check his ears, if there's some kind of waxy substance, or black substance, take him to the vet to make a cleanup. If not, see if there's another answer that will help.
I have a mini lop as well and she does exactly the same thing.... I find it so funny, she is just having fun after being cooped up for a while. Nothing to worry about.
when they dart back and forth and jump high in the air, and shake their ears about they're dancing! it means they're happy in the environment and enjoying themselves!
i think he's just making the most of being able to run around before going back in his cage. that's sweet that he cuddles up to you. ^_^
my rabbits used to always used to do that when they were running around the garden. im sure they do it just because they are happy =]
Take the battery's out
Hes late to meet the mad hatter
limited cranium capacity causing involuntary muscle spasm and movement
he's just having fun and he likes you.your bunny must be really cute.
