How do I train my rabbit?

I just received a new rabbit. How do I teach it various basics such as litter training? What are some other techniques I could possibly work on in the future? How do I train my rabbit?
You cant train a rabbit like a dog or a cat. They CAN be litter trained, you let them go without one a few days and you see what corner they always defecate and urinate in. It's best to put food in one corner, water in one corner and the hay rack in one corner- this way they only have ONE corner to do it in. You put a litter box there- its a corner pan.

You line it with a different bedding than the rest of the cage. Preferably ';Yesterday's News'; Cat Litter. You can not use CLAY CAT LITTER OR ANY OTHER CAT LITTER, pine and cedar shavings are also bad. You need to use Aspen or Carefresh for their cages.

They can walk on a leash, but it's basically *you just put a lead on them and they walk you*

Here are a TON of awesome sites to help you out. And I recommend you buy Rabbits by Guidry ($10 @ Petsmart and bookstores). Good luck!

How do I train my rabbit?

Rabbits can be litter trained, they like to eat and poop in the same place if you use yesterdays new litter for rabbits and place some timothy hay in the litter box and the rabbit will sit in the litter pan and eat the hay, each day put less and less hay in the litter pan till the rabbit is always using the litter pan. Also keep in mind that rabbit use their poop to mark their territory, the poop doesn't actually have any smell to it unlike urine, your rabbit if you let it out for play and exercise will leave some droppings here and there. Most important be patient it will take some time. Your rabbit also likes to play give him some toys to play with some chew safe cat and bird toys make great rabbit toys even cut holes in a box for your rabbit to jump in or on top of, it encourages overall well being and helps make litter training easier a happy bunny is a healthy one. Good luck.
Most definitely not the way you would train a dog or cat. You can't use negative reinforcement, they don't understand. Also, once you treat a rabbit wrong, it can hold a grudge for YEARS. Another hint for liter training is put a bit of the hay in the potty box and keep it in a smaller area than its cage will be until it uses the liter box reliably.
you have to get a litter box and certin litter that is just made for rabbits.. you cannot use regular litter because it can hurt your rabbit.. Then put some of her/hes poop in the litter and show him/her the litter box..
