Can a rabbit eat guinea pig food and vitamins?

My daughter's guinea pig had to be put down today. We have all of the stuff for a guinea pig, but she wants to get a rabbit. Can we use the same stuff to care for the rabbit (until the stuff's used up)?Can a rabbit eat guinea pig food and vitamins?
NO.Rabbits must not be fed any feeds other than their normal diet. They cannot eat guinea pig food because it does not contain the right nutrients to keep a rabbit healthy.Guinea pigs,on the other hand, may eat rabbit food but not the other way round.Rabbits have a VERY sensitive digestive track thus they must only be fed of food inside their normal diet area.

keep in mind that a rabbit's pellets must compromise only 1/4 of their diet.It must have 15% fiber and 20% protein to keep the rabbit in shape.

cheers! Can a rabbit eat guinea pig food and vitamins?
As long as it's not a huge amount. It should be fine... rabbits are prone to obesity though if kept on a guinea-pig's diet for long periods of time.

Think about donating the guinea-pig's vitamins to your local SPCA or Animal Shelter/Animal Rescue centre. Just because rabbits don't really need to the same vitamins that a guinea-pig does.

Sorry to hear about her guinea-pig. :-( It's not nice losing a pet.
your rabbit may be able to survive, but the question is, will it be healthy? dont try it, get rabbit food and make sure you feed him vegetables and such also... find a website or book about rabbit care to make sure your bunny is healthy and on the right diet. with the food, just give it away to someone who has a guinea or something- dont try feeding it to your rabbit
no because rabbits and guinea pigs have different diets. my neighbors rabbit got sick and later on died because she fed it guinea pig food for awhile.
No, rabbits have different dietary needs to guinea pigs. Guinea pig food has extra amounts of vitamin C.
i don't see why not... it's all the same stuff
